About this site

Prod is up is an independent publication launched in May 2026.

This is an automated technical publishing platform targeted at backend engineers, SREs, and platform teams. The site runs on Ghost and produces opinionated, practical articles on topics including service reliability, error propagation, API design, observability, incident response, and infrastructure patterns.

What makes it different from a standard blog is that humans do not write the content — they define problems and approve results. Two fully automated pipelines handle research, writing, and publishing:

  1. Video pipeline — ingests YouTube conference talks and technical videos, extracts key insights via an LLM, and publishes structured posts directly to production with no human intervention.
  2. Research pipeline — accepts a technical problem statement, autonomously searches the web for current best practices, drafts a full article using a local Ollama model, and stages the result for a single human review step before promotion to production. Feedback can trigger a second research + rewrite cycle.

The platform is designed to scale content output without scaling editorial effort. The human role is reduced to: write a problem statement, review a staged draft, and approve or reject. Everything else — research, writing, formatting, and publishing — is automated.
